Rémi Coignet
Born in France, Rémi Coignet has been the author of the blog Des livres et des photos devoted to photography books on Le Monde’s website since 2008. He is also editor-in-chief of The Eyes magazine. His writings have been published in various magazines, including Les Inrockuptibles, The Photobook Review, The Magazine of Bibliophile or Chronic’Art. Rémi Coignet has published numerous books for Editions de La Martinière, Minerva, Manise as well as for L‘Express. In France and in Europe he is regularly invited to discuss the photography book, recently at Le Bal in Paris, Fotobookfestival in Kassel, Fotografia Europea festival in Reggio Emilia, Landskrona festival in Sweden. He is also the author of Conversations and Conversations 2 published by Aman Iman Publishing in 2014 and 2017. These books discuss the current state of the photobook in a series of interviews with major players in contemporary photography, such as Lewis Baltz, Elina Brotherus, JH Engström, Horacio Fernandez, Syb, Eva Leitolf, Ethan Levitas, Michael Mack, Lesley A. Martin, Daido Moriyama, Anders Petersen, Erik Kessels, Gerhard Steidl, Martin Parr, Joan Fontcuberta, Lise Sarfati, Alec Soth, among others.
